This isnt Dark Souls or a WoW raid, dying to learn mechanics doesnt mesh with this type of game.Originally an Egg-Robo, the Heavy Gunner received a makeover when he stumbled upon the Phantom Ruby. The whole boss fight did a terrible job conveying what you have to do. Then he became easy once I found out the game shows you the order the missiles come in. 3 deaths were due to me realizing I cant just hit him, then I realized for some reason I can only do damage by.attacking the red missiles. I died like 8 times to the act 1 miniboss in the studio zone (that helicopter thing). I think another issue is that the game does a bad job at teaching boss mechanics. They're not even hard, you just need to die a few times to figure out their specific gimmick, which completely ruins the pacing of the game, and like the video stated, bleeds over to and corrupts other parts of the game. I got what I wanted out of the game: a fun mix of 2D and 3D platforming, mixing the old with new, and have 0 incentive to finish that last boss.Īnd with Mania (I only just started playing it last week), the bosses are a blemish. The final boss was basically a completely different game requiring a different skillset, and it frankly wasnt fun. So I really liked Sonic Generations from a few years ago (a decade? jesus fuck oh god), but I never finished it. Like they might as well be from a different game altogether (made even more apparent by the Mean Bean Machine boss). The boss fights in Mania (and Sonic games in general) are such a departure from the rest of the game. /r/GamePhysics - Clips of game physics shining and glitchingĭesign based on /r/FlatBlue created by /u/creesch./r/gaming4gamers - middle ground between purely-for-fun and more serious subreddits./r/GamingLeaksAndRumours - Leaks and Rumors.Posting unmarked spoilers will result in removal and warning, and posting spoilers with malicious intent will result in a ban.
